Review: Ward, A Dark Romance

Ward, A Dark Romance Ward, A Dark Romance by Zoe Blake
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the kinkiness of this book. I enjoy just about everything about it except I'm not exactly sure how to interpret the ending. I'm not sure if the author has given any thought to the continuation to this story but I would love to see that.

I loved this duet. All I wanted to do is sit and smile for a few minutes after I finished Savage Love.
Think Lost meets Survivor, that's what this book reminds me of.
I really enjoyed this. I think you will too.

Savage Dom: A Dark Romance Savage Dom: A Dark Romance by Jane Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow. I really enjoyed this book. The plot us strong and keeps you engaged. I'm not impressed with how much a feminist the h is in the beginning.
But she soon changes her way of thinking.
I know this is an ARC but I really really hope this book gets a good proofread. It was definitely enough to distract a reader.

Review: Slade

Slade Slade by Faith Gibson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I normally don't read MM. It's just not my cuppa. For some reason if they are within a series that have MF couples and I'm invested in the characters I will read them.
Slade is just so alpha. I love it.
Matthew is adorably cute. They absolutely do make a good couple. The fates chose wisely.
I recommend this whole series.

Stolen By Raze Stolen By Raze by Lolita Lopez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great to see another book out by this author.
I enjoyed reading about Raze and Ella.

Could use a good proofreading though.
When I pay $3.27 for an ebook I would have liked to have the author slow down a little and pay more attention if she can't get a good proofreader.

Review: Wolf At The Door

Wolf At The Door Wolf At The Door by Krystal Shannan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm starting to really not like Col. The Dragon from the first book of this series Knock Down Dragon Out.
These books are suppose to be able Redemption and forgiveness on a new planet. I just can't get on board with him thinking he is the only one to have landed on this strange planet looking for a better life.
Enough about him.
I love Knox and Elizabeth. I root for the underdog most of the time anyway. This couple has had to fight their way up their entire lives. It has not been easy for them. None the less they have prevailed against all odds.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes PNR mixed with SFR.

Review: Second Goal

Second Goal Second Goal by C.M. Seabrook
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It seems I've been waiting forever for this couple's book to come out. Blake is Kane's best friend and Kiley is his sister. We met Kane and Brynne in Second Shot. Blake and Kiley broke me.
This couple is so broken as individuals you have to wonder if they make it out whole as a couple.
This book was so worth the wait. The author did a fantastic job of capturing the emotions of this couple.
I loved every second of it even though the tears.

Review: Viking Warrior Rising

Viking Warrior Rising Viking Warrior Rising by Asa Maria Bradley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow

I have had this book on my shelf for a couple of years. I do not know what took me so long to read it. Well, I am glad I did get to. I really enjoyed reading it. I thought Leif and Naya were good strong characters. Although I have to admit Naya did get on my nerves a few times. This book was non stop action mixed with some steamy parts. Which makes it a perfect book for me.
I can not wait to read the next book in this series.

New Release/Giveaway - Accidental Shield by Nicole Snow

Accidental Shield
Nicole Snow
Publication date: January 2nd 2020
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Accidentally married to a human stallion.
And I can’t even remember our wedding.

It’s awkward, okay? I didn’t plan on waking up hitched to Hubby of the Century.
Or one little misadventure erasing every memory of us.
No sweet nothings. No ugly cry vows. No flipping honeymoon.
But every time I see Flint Calum, I wonder.
How did I get so lucky?

Let’s forget all six foot something of his oh-so-bad superdad self.
His flashing eyes and SEAL perfected whip of a body aren’t why I’m dizzy.
It’s the bittersweet way he smiles when I poke at my past.
And something’s very wrong.

He tells me I’ll be fine.
He says he’ll get this sorted.
He promises to be my shield.
Totally not the pretender who’d scheme up an illusion to save my life.

Oh, but that’s the thing about memories.
Sometimes they come back with bitter truths wrapped in dilemmas.
What if I can’t stay mad at him?
What if I need Flint to hero me back together?
What happens when you fall in love with a beautiful lie?

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow – a marriage mistake with two fierce truths and a lie. A dark knight single dad plays for keeps to save Little Miss Forgetful from a wicked past. Full-length romance novel with a fantabulous Happily Ever After.
EXCERPT:
I can’t look away.
Those golden eyes are mesmerizing. She’s so fucking beautiful and frail it hurts, this soft, confused young thing eyeing me like I can make all her worries vanish in a flash.
If only. Hell, just admitting how hot she is feels like a weird relief, considering I’ve been fighting it all day.
“Aren’t you coming to bed?” she asks, sitting up.
Shit. Here we go.
I shake my head, having decided I’d sleep upstairs in Bryce’s room. “Figured you’d be better off with the bed to yourself. I’ll sleep—”
“What? Why?” She shrugs. “It’s a big bed, and…”
Oh, hell. Her cheeks go rosy pink, and then her words hit me right between the eyes. “I don’t want to be alone.”
Well, fuck.
When she looks at me with those big gold eyes, something happens. Probably the same thing that’s been happening ever since Cash pulled up and I carried her into my house.
My heart starts thudding, telling me I’m not as immune to her magic as I thought.
My hands clench at my sides, forming fists, like some screwed up secret prayer trying to save us both from a cataclysm.
“Please, Flint?” she whispers. “We’re married, aren’t we?”
Right. That whole thing, I think to myself. Where’s the sniper to put me out of my misery?
I’ll kick myself in the ass for this later.
“Okay,” I finally agree. Gritting my teeth at the way other parts of my body react, I tell her, “Just let me hop in the shower first.”
She beams like the sun, stroking the cat that followed us in here. It’s resting on the bed beside her. “We’ll be here.”
Just frigging great. Another adjustment, having to share my bed with a mini cheetah and a girl who just might make me hard enough to hit a home run.
I head to the bathroom, shaking my head as soon as the door’s shut.
No lie, this might be the toughest job I’ve ever taken on.
And that’s saying a fuck of a lot, considering the Cornaro Outfit made me wish I was dead once upon a time.
I’m not sure what worries me more as I stand under the waterfall showerhead, temperature set to glacial.
Is it the re-match with Cornaro guns making me freak?
Or is it Valerie Gerard’s sweet looks that could end me in a puff of flame and testosterone?

BLOG TOUR- TALL, DARK & FURIOUS BY R.L. MATHEWSON

Title: Tall, Dark & Furious
Author: R.L. Mathewson
Genre: Paranormal, Romance
Series: A Pyte/Sentinel Novel #6

From bestselling author R.L. Mathewson comes the sixth installment of the Pyte/Sentinel Series…
For readers who enjoy paranormal romance with a twist.
For three centuries, Trace waited for this moment, imagined all the things that he would do to the Pack that tried to kill him, and now that he was free…
All he could think about was the woman that he’d claimed as his own. She was everything that he’d always wanted and once he had his revenge, he would make her his.
Sam had resigned herself to a lot of things over the years, being the town joke, blacking out at inopportune moments, and living with a dog that hated her, but what she hadn’t planned on was suddenly finding five large men destroying her basement, looking for a tomb that she never knew existed. In one moment, her life changed forever, leaving her to wonder how she was going to make it out of this alive.

“I really hate you,” Samantha informed the traitor that was following her as she tightened the towel around herself while she tried to ignore the splitting headache that was starting to concern her. She quickly made her way to her bedroom and once she was there, she slammed the door shut in the little bastard’s face only to bite back a groan when she realized that she wasn’t alone.
“What’s this?” the man that had barged into the bathroom a total of fifteen times to make sure that she was doing as she was told before stealing her clothes, asked from where he sat on her bed, examining her old iPod.
“It’s an iPod,” she said, absently noting that he was now wearing a pair of Nathan’s old jeans and had probably already searched her brother’s bedroom.
“What does it do?” he asked, as she walked over to her dresser, wondering if he’d found anything that she could use to get out of this.
“It plays music,” she said as she quickly grabbed some clothes, hoping to get dressed before-
“And this?” he asked, drawing her attention back to find him holding-
“Oh, my god!” she gasped as she dropped the clothes in her arms to rescue Bob before he realized what it was for, but something, mainly the way that his eyes suddenly turned red and that growl that she really shouldn’t find sexy was torn from his throat, told her that he’d just figured it out.
With a somewhat hysterical smile, she managed to grab Bob from him and shove it back in the nightstand drawer with the hopes that there wouldn’t be any follow up questions, but of course with the way that her day was going, she really should have expected it.
“What do you use that for, wife?” he asked, making her wince.
“It’s umm, a sleep aide?” she said absently, wondering if he’d found-
“And this?” he asked in that same deep sexy growl that let her know that yes, yes, he had indeed found her pocket rocket.
The sound of Bob Jr. turning on only confirmed it. Reminding herself that she needed to tread lightly here, she turned around, and mumbled, “It helps with the sleep aide,” noting the way that his red eyes narrowed on her before she quickly turned around as she shut it off and shoved it in the drawer with Bob. Once that was done, she turned around and-
“What’s a call?” he suddenly demanded as he picked up a large black duffle bag that she hadn’t noticed before and dropped it on her bed.
“A call?” she repeated back slowly as she did her best to keep her gaze from wandering towards the cellphone on her nightstand.

“I need a call,” he said firmly as those terrifying red eyes locked on her.

Q & A
  1. What is a Pyte?
A Pyte is a true immortal. He is the product of a vampire and a human woman. Pytes can also have children of their own day. They’re born as weak as a human baby, but the difference is that they need to consume blood as well food in order to thrive. If they don’t, they’re left weaker, will grow slower to the point that they’ll appear to be younger than they are.
If they survive to their sixteenth birthday, they will go into a coma where they’ll go through their transformation, becoming everything that they were meant to become and once they’re done, they’re immortal and nothing will be able to kill them. They’ll appear human but have all the strengths of a vampire with none of the weaknesses. They can go in the sun, withstand holy relics, and have the ability to create another Pyte.
Once they’ve created another Pyte, they’ll be able to create a stronger breed of vampire, which is why Masters, shifters, and Sentinels all over the world are desperate to get their hands on them. Masters want them to create a stronger army of vampires for them while shifters and Sentinels are willing to do anything to stop them.
Their immortality should make them unstoppable, but it’s their one true weakness.
  1. It’s been four years since Fated was published, what happened?
Life.
Life happened, unfortunately. In 2015 and 2016, we were dealing with a lot of stuff, a lot of changes, and thankfully, we were finally able to move. It was a very necessary move for our safety, so a lot of things were put on hold for a while. I focused on taking care of the kids, getting them settled, finally getting my son’s autism diagnosis, which has actually been a big relief finally getting answers. I did my best to keep working, I focused on contemporaries since they were the easiest to write.
When I write paranormal novels, I like to take my time, make sure the details are correct, develop the characters a little more so that they are able to make the world that I’m trying to create more believable. Basically, I stress over every detail.
I never planned on letting this much time go by between the books. I actually hadn’t realized it had until this past year when readers started to ask about the books. It’s the same for the Cursed Heart series. The books were supposed to be out a lot sooner than this. My goal for 2020 is to catch up with the books and get most of the series caught up.
  1. Who is Trace? We haven’t heard about him in the series before. Is he a new series?
Trace is new to the series. His father is Ethan, who you met very briefly in Tall, Dark & Heartless. He is the vampire that Caine contacted to get information about Pytes so that he could help his mate. Trace is his son that went missing centuries ago and has never stopped looking for.
Trace is a Pyte and brand new to the series as is his mate. With that being said, Kale plays a very important part in this book and you will get to see the others as well. Jill and Joshua are in this book as well. You will get more information in this book, more answers and a better sense of where the series is heading.
  1. Who will be next in the series?
Kale’s book will be next. His book is titled Unstoppable. His mate will be the key to the series. I have a lot of plans for that couple. It’s actually already started and I am looking forward to getting back to it. I am hoping for a Halloween release, but I don’t want to jinx myself. At this point, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
  1. Will Jill and Joshua ever get their own books?
Yes, but it won’t be anytime soon. Joshua plays a crucial part in this series so I need him to do a few things before we can redeem him. As for Jill, her character has a few more trials to go through before her story will be ready to be told.
  1. There’s a rumor going around that there will be a YA series for the Pytes. Is that true?
Yes, there is a Pyte YA series in the works. I have been playing with the idea for the past few years and trying to narrow it done to what I want. I’ve been debating a few things and I’m almost ready to start. I will say this, Marc will not be in this series only because he will not have his mate until he’s well into his adulthood. The one thing that I’m truly debating about the YA series is whether it will be focused on one couple or a new couple for every book. I’ll know more about where the series is heading once the first book is done.
  1. What makes your Pyte/Sentinel series different than the rest?
Well, for one, the concept of a Pyte is my creation, something that I’ve been toying with since I was a kid. There are a lot of vampire romance novels out there, with different takes on what a vampire is, how they’re created, their weaknesses, etc. and they’re great, but the Pyte/Sentinel series does it a little bit differently. I’ve tried to create a world that could easily blend in with ours with humans completely oblivious to the real world around them.
I’ve created this world so that even readers who don’t normally like paranormal romance enjoy these books because I try my best to make the characters relatable. The Pyte/Sentinel world is not overwhelming with paranormal aspects filling every page. The books ease readers into the story and allow them to keep up without having to remember all the different rules or concepts that make up this world.

New York Times Bestselling author, R.L. Mathewson was born Massachusetts. She’s known for her humor, quick wit and ability to write relatable characters. She currently has several paranormal and contemporary romance series published including the Neighbor from Hell series.

Growing up, R.L. Mathewson was a painfully shy bookworm. After high school she attended college, worked as a bellhop, fast food cook, and a museum worker until she decided to take an EMT course. Working as an EMT helped her get over her shyness as well as left her with some fond memories and some rather disturbing ones that from time to time show up in one of her books.

Today, R.L. Mathewson is the single mother of two children that keep her on her toes. She has a bit of a romance novel addiction as well as a major hot chocolate addiction and on a perfect day, she combines the two.

Secret Baby by Ella Goode

Madeleine has a secret. Five months ago, she met an irresistible man and made a very dumb mistake. She knows that a random hookup won’t want to be saddled with a baby and she’s way too vulnerable in this state to be rejected. Keeping a baby from the daddy might seem wrong, but it’s the best way to protect herself and her child for now.

Oliver wants answers. Five months ago, he met the woman of his dreams, took her up to his hotel room, made love to her until they both passed out only to wake up alone. He’s hired private investigators but with no last name or photographs, his hookup has remained a mystery. And he doesn’t like mysteries. Or surprises.

Oliver knows the Madeleine is the one for him. When he finally finds her, he’s determined to keep her...even if the father of the child isn’t him
